All of the mass shootings took place in 'gun free zones'. Not to mention the laws against murder, assault, etcetera. Can you think of a law that criminals or those willing to commit mass murder won't break? Neither can I.

It costs about $20 worth of metal to create a serviceable semi-automatic at any of *millions* of metal shops in the country possessed by businesses and hobbyists. It takes about $60 (or a little more time) to create a fully automatic weapon. Without turning us into something out of 1984, how are you going to stop that?

By comparison, where someone is legally armed and confronts a shooter, the average number of total casualties is something like 1.7. It doesn't make the news as a mass shooting, it never gets counted as a mass shooting, and it isn't a mass shooting because it doesn't get that far. If they have to wait for the police, the average number of casualties is 15 or so.

Quite frankly, the evidence is clear that the strategy supported by gun control is enabling to mass shooters and tries to solve the problem by keeping weapons from everyone who's *not* going to commit a gun crime and who very well might prevent one.

The vast majority of your citizenry are law-abiding, concerned people. How about a strategy that makes use of that fact, instead of one that pretends that we're all useless sheep (who somehow are magically transformed into murdering psychopaths by the act of touching a firearm)?
